Studio > Superpose & Render

In 2016, I was invited to participate in an artist residency in Jan Jose del Pacifico, Oaxaca. Part of what makes this community so incredible is that it is embedded in a cloud forest that has not yet been subjected to the deforestation that has impacted much of the mountain range. Superpose & Render, created entirely on my phone, documents the ecological diversity of the environment and manipulates the image itself to emulate the topography of the region in an effort to address the idealism often projected onto nature in our efforts to protect it.
