Video & Interactive Media > Transmutation

Transmutation is a suite of silent videos that push through the representational limits of lens-based media. Beginning with videographic studies of the environments I navigate, these moving images are digitally manipulated until they are unrecognizable. The result is a collection of unfamiliar images that are dictated by forms of natural motion that we are witness to everyday.

These works, and many others created in this mode between 2009 and 2013, represent the beginnings of my public-facing practice, which unfolded primarily in clubs, concert venues, and artist-run spaces in Brooklyn.
