Monarchical Index
Monarchical Index is a multimedia study of basic representation and classification. Employing various strategies ranging from physical synthesis to optical representation to reflection, the work catalogs a number of methodologies used to signify the plants centered in the installation. Furthermore, this sculptural work highlights the limits of these strategies as a vehicle for representation by drawing attention to the separation between the symbols they produce and the incredibly complex systems they reference.

Break out the neon hula hoops, turntables and Chewbacca masks — Indy’s edgiest arts party is back for one last hurrah.
After a three-year hiatus, Oranje co-founder Ryan Hickey is resurrecting the 21+ beats-and-booze bonanza at the former Coca-Cola bottling plant on Massachusetts Avenue Saturday, Sept. 22 at 8 p.m.
