Our first round of presentations was an in-depth reflection on family. Following the tradition of cultivating collective memory through an exchange of oral histories, each participant was asked to consider the following questions and present their findings to the group:

Who are your parents? When and where were they born? How would you describe your relationship with them?

If you have any siblings, what are they like?

What can you tell us about your grandparents? Great grandparents? Great great grandparents?

What do/did your family members do for a living? What role do/did they play within their communities?

What islands/cities/towns/villages can you trace your family back to?

What languages/dialects are spoken within your family?
